That sense of isolation, he says, forged an inner strength. \u201cWhen you\u2019re dismissed early on, you learn not to depend on other people\u2019s validation,\u201d Murphy explained. \u201cIt builds a kind of resilience. That\u2019s probably why I approach acting the way I do \u2014 with focus and humility rather than ego.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

That quiet determination carried him through years of small roles until his breakout as Thomas Shelby in Peaky Blinders<\/em> catapulted him into global stardom. Murphy and his wife, artist Yvonne McGuinness, have always prioritized privacy, raising their family in Ireland, far from Hollywood\u2019s spotlight. \u201cI don\u2019t want them growing up around red carpets,\u201d he said. \u201cI want them to know me as a father, not as a celebrity.
