\u201cShe just cried. And for the first time, I felt shame \u2014 not because I got caught, but because I broke her heart. That was the moment I knew I had to change.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

2. His Probation Officer, Mary Simmons<\/span><\/h3>\n

The second influential figure was his probation officer, Mary Simmons, who refused to let Wahlberg fall through the cracks.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cShe was tough,\u201d he said with a grin. \u201cShe told me, \u2018You think you\u2019re special? You\u2019re just another statistic unless you prove me wrong.\u2019 She kept me accountable and helped me believe I could be more than a criminal record.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
