But during Super Bowl LX festivities in San Francisco this week, Devine discovered there is one opponent he simply cannot riff-off: a 6\u20198\u201d, 360-pound offensive tackle with the voice of a soul singer.<\/span><\/p>\n

While promoting the upcoming Super Bowl at a Marriott Bonvoy pop-up event on February 4, 2026, Devine joined NFL stars George Kittle<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, Bijan Robinson<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, and Jordan Mailata<\/span><\/span><\/strong> for an impromptu a cappella performance of Survivor\u2019s \u201cEye of the Tiger.\u201d<\/em> What began as a lighthearted fan moment quickly turned into an accidental vocal showcase\u2014one Devine did not win.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe guy is 6\u20198\u201d, 360 pounds,\u201d Devine later told People<\/em>, still sounding genuinely amazed. \u201cAnd then\u2014stunning voice. Like, it really takes you somewhere.\u201d For a man who has spent years pretending to be an elite singer on screen, the admission landed as both humbling and hilarious. \u201cHe has a beautiful voice,\u201d Devine added, conceding defeat with grace.<\/span><\/p>\n

The performance took place at San Francisco\u2019s Ferry Building, where the group\u2014briefly dubbed The Golden Keys<\/em>\u2014surprised fans as part of Marriott Bonvoy\u2019s Super Bowl campaign. Devine, serving as a brand ambassador, expected to bring some polished Pitch Perfect<\/em> energy. Instead, he found himself forgetting lyrics, flailing through choreography, and realizing that real-life a cappella is far less forgiving than movie magic.<\/span><\/p>\n

Behind the scenes, Devine described the experience as a \u201cdisaster\u201d\u2014and meant it affectionately. The choreography fell apart. The timing was off. Devine admitted he \u201ctotally blanked\u201d mid-song. Even George Kittle, rolling through part of the event on a scooter due to a late-season injury, added to the chaos. The crowd loved every second of it.<\/span><\/p>\n

For NFL fans, however, Mailata\u2019s vocal dominance wasn\u2019t exactly a surprise. The Philadelphia Eagles lineman has quietly built a second reputation as a singer with remarkable range and control. In 2022, he competed on The Masked Singer<\/span><\/span><\/em> as \u201cThingamabob,\u201d earning praise from judges. He\u2019s also a core member of The Philly Specials<\/em>, releasing multiple charity Christmas albums with teammates that have raised millions\u2014and even cracked the Billboard 200.<\/span><\/p>\n

Devine joked that he\u2019s grateful Mailata chose football over music. \u201cIf these guys sang for a living,\u201d he laughed, \u201cI\u2019d be out of a job.\u201d It was a rare moment where comedy took a backseat to genuine admiration.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event concluded with the awarding of Marriott Bonvoy\u2019s \u201cGolden Key,\u201d but the real takeaway had nothing to do with hotels or football. It was the image of a Hollywood musical star being effortlessly out-sung by a man built to block defensive linemen.<\/span><\/p>\n
