Some attendees were seen wearing \u201cICE Out\u201d lapel pins, while statements such as \u201cNo one is illegal on stolen land\u201d and explicit anti-ICE slogans were voiced from the stage. Critics on social media further alleged that Justice Jackson appeared to applaud during some of these moments, though no official confirmation of that claim has been made.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1361\" data-end=\"1811\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">In a letter sent Thursday to Chief Justice Roberts, Blackburn wrote that \u201cvery rarely\u2014if ever\u2014have justices of our nation\u2019s highest Court been present at an event at which attendees have amplified such far-left rhetoric.\u201d She argued that even passive participation in such a setting risks eroding public trust in the Supreme Court\u2019s neutrality, particularly as the court continues to hear and consider high-profile cases involving immigration policy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1813\" data-end=\"2214\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Blackburn emphasized that the concern is heightened by the court\u2019s current docket, which includes cases tied to policies associated with President <strong data-start=\"1960\" data-end=\"2001\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Donald Trump<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, as well as the likelihood of future immigration-related disputes. According to Blackburn, those episodes amounted to partisan \u201csmear campaigns,\u201d whereas Jackson\u2019s Grammy appearance presents \u201cserious and legitimate questions\u201d under the Supreme Court\u2019s Code of Conduct.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2859\" data-end=\"3166\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The high court adopted its first-ever formal code of conduct in 2023 amid mounting public pressure, though the rules lack a clear enforcement mechanism. All nine justices signed onto the code, which instructs them to act in ways that preserve public confidence in the judiciary\u2019s integrity and impartiality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3168\" data-end=\"3395\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Justice Jackson, while often aligned with the court\u2019s liberal wing, has occasionally crossed ideological lines. In 2024, she joined five conservative justices in narrowing a key charge used in Capitol riot-related prosecutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3397\" data-end=\"3657\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The Supreme Court declined to comment on Blackburn\u2019s request.
