The 38-year-old actress<\/strong>, best known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones<\/em>, voices Pippa<\/strong>, the film\u2019s narrator \u2014 a quick-witted bed bug who lives in Mr. Twit\u2019s beard and tells the story to her son, Jeremy.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Classic Story with Modern Meaning<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Directed by Phil Johnston<\/strong>, the project marks the first-ever screen adaptation of Dahl\u2019s 1980 classic. The story follows the infamously cruel couple, Mr. and Mrs. Twit<\/strong>, known for their outrageous pranks and mean-spirited behavior. Clarke revealed that her character went through several creative changes during production.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cShe started out as a very acerbic, sharp-tongued character with an incredibly dry wit,\u201d<\/strong> Clarke said.<\/span>
\u201cBut over time, we realized she needed to become the voice of calm reasoning \u2014 still playful, especially with her son, but not too harsh.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While some of Pippa\u2019s dry humor remained, Clarke emphasized that the character strikes a careful balance: honest about the Twits\u2019 cruelty, but gentle enough not to frighten her young listener.<\/span><\/p>\n
