Country superstar Blake Shelton<\/span><\/span><\/strong> made a loud, unapologetic return to Las Vegas this week, kicking off the latest run of his residency at Caesars Palace with humor, high energy, and a few choice words about \u201cDry January.\u201d After a successful but brief Vegas stint last year, Shelton is back with an expanded schedule\u2014and a renewed reason to celebrate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shelton resumed his residency on Thursday, Jan. 15, at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, launching the show with \u201cPour Me Drink,\u201d his collaboration with Post Malone<\/span><\/span><\/strong>. The song, which earned the duo a CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year, immediately set the tone for the night. Holding up a dark cup that appeared to contain a cocktail, Shelton wasted no time engaging the crowd.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI hope you guys aren’t doing that no drink January or whatever the hell that s— is,\u201d Shelton joked. \u201cIt\u2019s stupid. This is country music, okay?\u201d The remark drew loud cheers from the packed audience, with Shelton encouraging fans to \u201ctake the night off\u201d if they were observing the trend.<\/span><\/p>\n

While Shelton performed six Vegas shows last year, this 2026 residency run stretches across the entire month of January. Though the 90-minute show closely mirrors last year\u2019s format, fans were treated to new material, including \u201cStay Country or Die Tryin\u2019,\u201d Shelton\u2019s latest No. 1 single. Before performing the song, Shelton paused to reflect on the milestone.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the only time during this residency I\u2019ll be able to say this,\u201d he told the crowd. \u201cWe are celebrating my 31st No. 1 song.\u201d Clearly energized by the moment, Shelton joked that the achievement was \u201cfreaking him out,\u201d adding that the Vegas stage was his one chance to properly celebrate.<\/span><\/p>\n

The setlist balanced fresh releases like 2024\u2019s \u201cTexas\u201d with beloved classics spanning Shelton\u2019s career, including \u201cAustin,\u201d \u201cShe Wouldn\u2019t Be Gone,\u201d and \u201cSome Beach.\u201d Visually, the show shifted moods through the massive screen behind him\u2014flowing rivers during \u201cGod\u2019s Country,\u201d stark prison imagery for \u201cOl\u2019 Red,\u201d and glowing signage during \u201cNeon Light.\u201d A single spotlight stripped things back for a quieter performance of \u201cSure Be Cool If You Did.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Shelton\u2019s trademark humor was on full display as he bantered with fans between crowd-pleasers like \u201cHillbilly Bone\u201d and \u201cBoys Round Here.\u201d One of the night\u2019s most heartfelt moments came during \u201cNobody But You,\u201d when Shelton performed alongside a prerecorded video of his wife, Gwen Stefani<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, harmonizing with him on the oversized screen.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is like my big-ass living room,\u201d Shelton told the crowd, inviting fans to shout out song requests. Even on a Thursday night, the energy felt electric. \u201cIt\u2019s never Thursdays in Las Vegas,\u201d Shelton quipped. \u201cOnly Saturdays.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
