Jennifer Lawrence is offering a rare and refreshingly honest glimpse into her marriage, revealing that one simple rule helps keep her relationship with husband Cooke Maroney strong\u2014even though, by her own admission, the two couldn\u2019t be more different.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Oscar-winning actress, 35, appeared on the Jan. 12 episode of the SmartLess<\/span><\/span><\/strong> podcast, hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett. During the candid conversation, Lawrence opened up about how Maroney serves as the grounding force in their household, describing him as the \u201canchor\u201d who keeps their family organized and on track.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI married somebody who is the opposite of me,\u201d Lawrence shared with a laugh. \u201cHe is so organized. Everything is ordered.\u201d She explained that while Maroney thrives on structure, she is naturally more chaotic, joking that she has to remind herself to keep closet doors closed and stay on top of her assigned household tasks.<\/span><\/p>\n

That difference became even more apparent after the couple welcomed children. Lawrence admitted that sticking to a schedule has never been her strong suit, but motherhood has changed her perspective. \u201cI get it now,\u201d she said, referencing the strict daily routines that come with raising young kids. Breakfast, naps, and bedtime all run on precise timing\u2014something Maroney excels at managing.<\/span><\/p>\n

To keep the peace and, as Lawrence put it, to \u201ckeep our marriage alive,\u201d the couple came up with a rule that works for both of them: she gets a 15-minute grace period. \u201cI have a 15-minute wiggle room,\u201d the No Hard Feelings<\/em> star explained, acknowledging that her husband\u2019s flexibility helps balance their differences rather than letting them become a source of tension.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lawrence and Maroney were first linked in 2018 after being introduced by a mutual friend. They became engaged in February 2019 and tied the knot later that year at the Belcourt of Newport mansion in Rhode Island. Their wedding was attended by a star-studded guest list that included Adele, Kris Jenner and Amy Schumer.<\/span><\/p>\n

The couple now shares two children: son Cy, 3, and a second baby born in early 2024, whose name and sex they have chosen to keep private.
