Acting CFPB Director <strong data-start=\"1744\" data-end=\"1785\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Russell Vought<\/span><\/span><\/strong> said the prior guidance lacked any clear statutory or regulatory basis and improperly pressured banks to ignore legitimate risk factors. \u201cWe are correcting the last administration\u2019s attempt to ignore these well-accepted and common-sense principles of our nation\u2019s fair lending laws,\u201d Vought said in a statement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2099\" data-end=\"2417\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Echoing that position, <strong data-start=\"2122\" data-end=\"2163\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Harmeet K.
