Blake Lively is speaking out as her legal dispute with It Ends With Us<\/em> co-star and director Justin Baldoni continues, putting nine months of silence to rest with a firm declaration: \u201cJustice doesn\u2019t fear the truth.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The Gossip Girl<\/em> alum\u2019s team responded to claims resurfacing from Baldoni\u2019s former WME agent, Danny Greenberg, who during a recent deposition referred to Lively\u2019s behind-the-scenes actions on the 2024 Colleen Hoover adaptation as \u201cextortion.\u201d Lively\u2019s representatives insist the comment is being taken out of context.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe court already dismissed their so-called \u2018taking over a movie\u2019 claim, and this cherry-picked deposition quote from Baldoni\u2019s prior agent before he was dropped from WME adds nothing new,\u201d a rep told E! News<\/strong> on Oct. 14. \u201cIn fact, the court\u2019s dismissal even assumed their allegations were true for the sake of argument\u2014and still held that they don\u2019t amount to a valid claim under the law.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Lively\u2019s team emphasized that this ongoing litigation is a serious legal matter, not \u201cclick-bait content,\u201d and called the resurfacing of Greenberg\u2019s deposition \u201cjust a recycled distraction\u201d unrelated to the sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios are facing.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to deposition documents obtained by People<\/strong> on Oct. 13, Greenberg \u2014 who stopped representing Baldoni after he left WME last year \u2014 alleged that he assisted Baldoni in drafting emails to Sony regarding Lively\u2019s \u201ccontinued extortion and effort to gain control of the film.\u201d Greenberg clarified that he did not mean criminal extortion, but rather \u201ccumulative behavior\u201d that Sony, Baldoni, and Wayfarer Studios had to manage.<\/span><\/p>\n

The legal drama began in December when Lively filed a civil complaint against Baldoni for sexual harassment on the It Ends With Us<\/em> set and accused him of attempting to damage her reputation through a retaliatory smear campaign. Baldoni countered with a defamation lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist Leslie Sloane \u2014 as well as a separate defamation case against The New York Times<\/em> for covering Lively\u2019s allegations. All those cases have since been dismissed.<\/span><\/p>\n

A status hearing in Lively\u2019s case against Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios is scheduled for Oct. 26, with the official trial set to begin in March 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n
