Netflix has released the first poster art for the highly anticipated film continuation of the award-winning series, set against the gritty backdrop of 20th-century Birmingham. The streaming service had confirmed the film was in production back in September, featuring pictures that strongly suggested the return of lead actor Cillian Murphy. The poster, released on Friday, confirms Murphy\u2019s iconic role as Thomas \u2018Tommy\u2019 Shelby and also gives the film its title: <i>Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man<\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"2\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The film is slated for a Netflix release on March 20, following a limited run in theaters. This comes approximately four years after the conclusion of the original series in 2022. While the full plot remains under wraps, Netflix has revealed the film will be set in 1940. Tommy is set to return to his hometown after a period of self-imposed exile, amidst the burgeoning chaos of the Second World War.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Steven Knight, who penned both the original series and the upcoming film, promises a dramatic installment. \u201cThe country is at war, and so, of course, are our Peaky Blinders,\u201d Knight commented. \u201cIt will be an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. No holds barred. Full-on Peaky Blinders at war.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Murphy is not the only familiar face set to return. Several <i>Peaky Blinders<\/i> stars will be reprising their roles. Sophie Rundle is back as Tommy\u2019s sister, Ada Thorne. Stephen Graham and Ned Dennehy are returning as Hayden Stagg and Charlie Strong, two trusted Shelby family allies. Packy Lee will return as Johnny Dogs, a loyal associate of the Midlands mafiosos, and Ian Peck is back as Curly, the trusty stable hand. Tom Harper, a veteran director from the series, will also be at the helm for the film.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Speaking to Netflix, Murphy expressed his satisfaction: \u201cIt seems like Tommy Shelby wasn\u2019t finished with me. It is very gratifying to be re-collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of <i>Peaky Blinders<\/i>. This is one for the fans.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The <i>Peaky Blinders<\/i> universe appears to be expanding even further. An earlier report from Deadline indicated that two six-part sequel series are planned to follow <i>The Immortal Man<\/i>. These series will be set in the 1950s.
