LOS ANGELES, CA<\/span><\/b> \u2014 Jennifer Lawrence has delivered a ringing endorsement for the latest action thriller from director Paul Thomas Anderson, declaring Leonardo DiCaprio’s <\/span>One Battle After Another<\/span><\/i><\/b> “the best movie I’ve ever seen.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The 35-year-old Oscar winner made the bold claim during an appearance on BAFTA and Samsung’s BAFTA Playback, where she detailed her profound reaction to the cinematic experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I can’t remember a time where I’ve had an experience like that in the cinema, and it was shared,” Lawrence said, noting the rare moment when “everybody applauded” as the credits rolled on the 2025 release.<\/span><\/p>\n

An “Impossible Pace to Uphold”<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

Lawrence revealed she saw the thriller with her husband, Cooke Maroney, whom she profusely relied on “over and over again because he had booked the tickets, like two weeks in advance.”<\/span><\/p>\n

After watching the film, which premiered to critical acclaim and currently holds a <\/span>94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes<\/span><\/b> , Lawrence was rendered nearly speechless, only recalling, “I just couldn’t say anything else other than like, ‘Thank you for that experience.’ “<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

She urged fans to rush to the theater, praising the film’s flawless pacing and tension. “I think it’s an impossible pace to maintain,” she continued. “There’s not an extra minute in it. At no point does it drag.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Praise for Anderson and Star-Studded Cast<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

The <\/span>Die My Love<\/span><\/i><\/b> star heaped praise on writer and director Paul Thomas Anderson for his visceral character work.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“Anderson has so many characters inside of him, and they’re all so visceral, so real, that it’s so alive and you’re in it,” she explained. “Every character, you know them, and you see them.”<\/span><\/p>\n

One Battle After Another<\/span><\/i><\/b> , which debuted in November, is based on Thomas Pynchon’s 1990 novel<\/span> Vineland<\/span><\/i> .<\/span> It follows DiCaprio as Bob Ferguson, a former revolutionary figure being hunted by Sean Penn’s police character, Steven Lockjaw.<\/span><\/span> The star-studded cast also includes Regina Hall, Benicio del Toro, and Teyana Taylor.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In the film, Lawrence stars as Grace, a young mother battling severe postpartum depression and psychosis that strains her marriage. <\/span>Speaking with PEOPLE earlier this month, the mother-of-two discussed how her personal life informed the difficult role.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“I didn’t really end up having really bad postpartum [anxiety] until my second [baby],” Lawrence explained.<\/span><\/p>\n
