The 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony<\/b>, held on November 8<\/b> at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles<\/b>, was a long-overdue honor for grunge pioneers Soundgarden<\/b>. The evening, which officially welcomed surviving members Kim Thayil<\/b>, Matt Cameron<\/b>, Ben Shepherd<\/b>, and original bassist Hiro Yamamoto<\/b> into the Performer category, was naturally dominated by an emotional tribute to their late, iconic frontman, Chris Cornell<\/b>, who passed away in 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n

The most poignant moment of the night was a surprise performance by Cornell’s youngest daughter, Toni Cornell<\/b>, who delivered a stripped-down, acoustic rendition of one of her father\u2019s most personal songs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Toni Cornell, then 21, took the stage after the official induction speeches and full-band performances (which included guest vocalists like Brandi Carlile<\/b> and Taylor Momsen<\/b>). Toni was accompanied by rock royalty: Nancy Wilson<\/b> (guitarist for Heart<\/b>, the band Chris Cornell himself inducted into the Rock Hall in 2013) and Adrienne Woods<\/b> on cello.<\/span><\/p>\n
