Jennifer Lawrence may be known for her unfiltered humor and down-to-earth personality, but her latest story might be her most unexpected yet. During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the Oscar-winning actress recalled a chaotic and strangely wholesome moment involving her Die, My Love co-star Robert Pattinson — and a meal that didn’t quite come from the kitchen.
“He’s One of the Girls” — The Setup
Lawrence described the scene in perfect detail: she was having a cozy night in with friends, all in pajamas, watching Little Women in December. Then she received a message from Pattinson, who had just finished working nearby.
“Rob is one of the girls,” she joked. “He wants to gossip. So I said, ‘Come over!’”
But there was one problem — she had no food in the fridge.
A Desperate Hostess Move
When Pattinson arrived, he immediately asked, “Do you have any food? I’m starving.” Lawrence, wanting to be a good host, told him yes — despite the fact that the only food she had was already in the trash.
“He went to the bathroom and I just started pulling food out of the garbage,” she admitted. Her friends watched in disbelief as she attempted to salvage what she could.
Pattinson returned, unaware of the situation, and began eating.
The Twist: “Is There More?”
To Lawrence’s astonishment (and horror), he enjoyed it — and asked for seconds.
“We were all just watching him eat this trash,” she said, laughing. “And then he goes, ‘I’m still hungry — is there more?’”
At that point, Lawrence confessed that any remaining food was also in the garbage. Pattinson’s reaction?
“Oh, I don’t mind,” he reportedly said, casually pulling more food from the trash himself and continuing to eat.
From Garbage Snacks to Cannes Film Festival
Despite the unconventional meal, the two stars continue to share an easy friendship — one that now comes with a legendary story. Their upcoming film Die, My Love, directed by Lynne Ramsay (We Need to Talk About Kevin), debuted to strong acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival and is set for theatrical release on November 7.
If this behind-the-scenes moment is any indication, Lawrence and Pattinson’s off-screen chemistry may be just as unforgettable as their on-screen performances.
