Tom Holland Says He and Zendaya Found Peace in Everyday Life: “We Cook Dinner and Watch Old Movies — That’s It”

After becoming global stars through Spider-Man: Homecoming and later Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland and Zendaya quickly found themselves at the center of worldwide attention. Yet despite the fame, the 29-year-old actor says the couple has made a conscious decision to embrace a quieter, more grounded life.

“We’ve learned to be normal again,” Holland shared in a recent interview. “We cook dinner, we watch old movies, we take walks. That’s it — and it’s the best thing in the world.”

Rediscovering Normalcy After Global Fame

Holland reflected on how fame transformed their lives overnight. “When you’re part of something as massive as Spider-Man, your world explodes overnight,” he said. “You go from anonymity to global recognition, and that’s not something anyone can really prepare for.”

Zendaya, who went on to star in Euphoria and Dune: Part Two, faced the same pressure — but Holland says it was their shared understanding of the industry that helped them find balance.

“Having someone who gets that — who sees the human behind all of it — makes a world of difference,” he said.

Love in the Little Things

Far from the red carpets and flashing cameras, Holland described their version of a perfect evening: cooking pasta or curry together and putting on a classic film like When Harry Met Sally or Back to the Future.

“No phones, no scripts, no pressure,” he said. “Just us.”

Their commitment to simplicity, he added, is what keeps them centered amid their demanding careers.

Finding Balance Beyond Success

Holland admitted that taking time away from acting after filming the Apple TV+ drama The Crowded Room helped him regroup emotionally. “That show pushed me to my limits,” he said. “But it also reminded me that peace doesn’t come from success — it comes from balance. And Zendaya’s helped me find that balance.”

While both continue to take on major projects — Zendaya in blockbuster films and Holland preparing for future roles — they remain protective of their private life.

“We’ve got our thing,” he said. “The world doesn’t need to see everything. Some moments are just ours.”

A Quiet Kind of Happiness

In the midst of their global careers, Holland says it’s the quiet evenings, shared meals, and old movies that bring them the most joy.

“At the end of the day, we’re just two people who love what we do — and love each other. Everything else is noise.”

In an industry defined by attention, Tom Holland and Zendaya’s approach is a reminder that sometimes, the truest form of peace comes from choosing an ordinary moment — and holding on to it.
