Snoop Dogg is taking a new step toward promoting inclusion in children’s entertainment through his animated YouTube series Doggyland, partnering with GLAAD to highlight messages of acceptance and family diversity. The move comes shortly after he sparked discussion over comments he made regarding LGBTQ representation in Disney’s Lightyear.
A New Direction in Doggyland
Speaking during a Spirit Day conversation with The Voice alum Jeremy Beloate, Snoop Dogg introduced a new song titled “Love Is Love,” which will appear in the children’s show. Beloate voices a character named Zippy, while Snoop Dogg lends his voice to Bow Wizzle, guiding young viewers through lessons about kindness and understanding.
The song features animated families of various structures, including same-sex parents, while delivering a message focused on love, purpose, and the uniqueness of every household.
“It’s a beautiful thing that kids can have parents of all walks and be shown love,” Snoop shared during the discussion. “Love is the key.”
Promoting Inclusion Through Music and Storytelling
Snoop Dogg emphasized that his goal with Doggyland is to create a space where children can learn about the world around them in a gentle and encouraging way.
“This music is a bridge to bring understanding,” he said. “Hopefully, we can help answer these questions and help kids live a happy life.”
GLAAD’s collaboration with the show aligns with Spirit Day, an annual event dedicated to standing against bullying and promoting acceptance. Snoop Dogg said the message fits naturally with what the series aims to teach.
“Spreading love and respect for everybody is what real leaders do,” he noted. “Kindness is cool, inclusion is powerful, and love always wins.”
Reflecting on Past Concerns
In August, Snoop Dogg had expressed uncertainty about LGBTQ themes in children’s media, recalling his reaction while watching Lightyear with his grandchild. He admitted at the time that such moments left him unsure of how to respond to questions from young viewers.
However, his current approach signals a shift toward using conversation, art, and music to guide children through understanding modern family dynamics.
A Message for the Next Generation
With Doggyland and the “Love Is Love” segment, Snoop Dogg is positioning his platform to teach compassion from an early age. Rather than framing differences as confusing, the show encourages children to see love and family through a lens of empathy.
In a closing note, he summed up the series’ mission clearly:
“At the end of the day, it’s all about love — that’s what we’re teaching the kids.”
Through this new chapter, Snoop Dogg is using his influence to promote unity, showing that even in children’s entertainment, music and storytelling can open doors to understanding and respect.
