50 Cent Reveals He Once Wrote a Movie About His Own Death — “But I Wasn’t Ready to End It Yet”

In a revelation that stunned fans and industry insiders alike, 50 Cent — born Curtis Jackson — shared that he once wrote a screenplay depicting his own death, only to abandon the project because, in his own words, “the script was too real to shoot.”

“I wrote it like a goodbye,” he said during a recent interview. “It wasn’t about dying — it was about what would happen after I was gone. But the more I wrote, the more I realized I wasn’t ready to end it yet.”

A Film He May Never Finish

According to sources close to him, the screenplay was conceived in the mid-2010s during the peak of Power, when Jackson was redefining his legacy from rapper to entertainment mogul. The film reportedly opened with a stylized recreation of the night he was shot nine times — a moment he has often described as the death of Curtis and the birth of 50 Cent.

But this time, the story didn’t follow the path of survival and success. It imagined what would happen if 50 Cent actually died.

“It was me watching the world react,” he explained. “The fans, the headlines, the people who made money off my name. Everyone grabbing a piece. It got dark fast.”

Curtis vs. 50 — A Split Identity

At one stage, he considered directing the movie under his real name rather than his stage persona — symbolically separating the man from the myth he built.

“The whole idea was that 50 Cent dies,” he said. “Curtis Jackson is left behind to deal with the wreckage.”

The film became less of a script and more of a psychological confrontation — a personal reckoning with mortality, fame, and legacy.

“It Felt Like Planning My Own Funeral”

As the writing deepened, Jackson said it began to feel like something he wasn’t ready to face.

“I realized I was writing a send-off — and I’m not done living yet,” he admitted. “It felt like I was rehearsing my own funeral. So I stopped.”

An Ending Still Being Written

The script still exists, tucked away in a box somewhere. Whether it will ever be completed remains unknown — and maybe that’s the point.

“Maybe one day I’ll shoot it,” he said. “But right now? I’m still in the middle of the story.”

A legend who survived his own ending once already is still refusing to roll the credits.
