Spider-Man stars Tom Holland and Zendaya recently gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at how their height difference affects some of the action-packed stunts in the franchise — and their playful chemistry made the story even more endearing.
Holland, standing around 5’8”, and Zendaya, at 5’10”, appeared on The Graham Norton Show to discuss Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the next installment where they’ll reprise their iconic roles. Graham Norton brought up their height difference, prompting a jokingly sarcastic, “Thank you, Graham,” from Holland before he admitted it made for a “good story.”

Zendaya explained the logistics: “He’s supposed to gently rest MJ on the bridge and walk away from her. Because of our height difference, if we’re on the same point, I would land before him — my feet obviously hit the ground first.”
Holland then demonstrated how the stunts are adjusted for safety and style. He described a “bottom mark,” a designated spot to prevent injury, and how their height difference required extra choreography. “So Zendaya would land, and I’m the superhero, supposed to look cool. She lands, and then I would sort of land like this,” he said, demonstrating by swinging his legs mid-air before hitting the mark.
To the delight of the audience, the couple finished the demonstration with Holland balanced on one leg, held in place by Zendaya, drawing laughter and applause.
The pair first met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016 and confirmed their relationship in 2021. While they generally keep their private lives private, Holland has called their relationship “the best thing” that’s happened to him. Fans have also noticed the playful dynamic with Zendaya’s family, who reportedly affectionately call Holland “Spider-Man.”
Whether soaring through the city or navigating a height difference, the couple’s sweet teamwork proves that superhero stunts — and love — are all about trust, timing, and a little creativity.
