“Oh Gavvy pooh, it only gets worse from here for you, buddy,” Minaj wrote in a Friday post. She then added, “It’s the end of the road for you, my love,” while sharing an image of the horror character Chucky from the Child’s Play film franchise.

The “Starships” singer offered further advice to the governor. “Get on the nearest jet ski & let that beautiful hair blow in the wind,” she continued. “It will make you happier than this race that you will not win. Enjoy life. Peace.”

Minaj continued her critique in a subsequent post, focusing on Newsom’s public image. “Gavin is the cute boy who got everything handed to him b/c of how cute & sexy & hot & smoking he was,” she posted. “Oohhh look @’m. Sitting there in that suit with the sneakers on.”

She compared the governor to a Hollywood icon, though with a distinct warning. “He thinks he’s Tom Cruise only difference is, his next mission IS impossible,” the rapper asserted. “He should get another leading role.”

Minaj then contrasted Newsom’s supposed priorities with those of the average parent. “Normal adults wake up & think they want to see HEALTHY, SAFE, HAPPY kids,” she argued. “Not Gav.” She concluded her remarks with a dismissive tone. “The Gav Nots. GavOUT. Send in the next guy, I’m bored.”

The high-profile exchange also drew in political figures. Vice President JD Vance joined the conversation, weighing in on a separate celebrity rivalry. Vance briefly commented “Nicki > Cardi” in response to one of Minaj’s X posts, which simply read, “Vance > Rants.”
