🇺🇸 Trump Calls for Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Removal Over Alleged Brother Marriage Claims

President Donald Trump suggested that Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) should be removed from the United States, citing long-standing, unproven allegations that she illegally entered the country by marrying her brother.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump directly addressed the claims. “Somalia, where you have a Congressman goes around telling everybody about our Constitution, yet she supposedly came into our country by marrying her brother,” Trump stated. “Well, if that’s true, she shouldn’t be a Congressman, and we should throw her the hell out of our country.” He further asserted that the U.S. does not need people entering the country and “telling us what to do.”

🇸🇴 Criticism Amid Somali Community Defense and Policy Debates

Trump’s comments coincide with the Minnesota Democrat’s vocal defense of the state’s Somali community, which has recently faced reports alleging widespread fraud within taxpayers’ healthcare programs. Trump himself has previously announced plans to terminate Temporary Protected Status (TPS) amnesty for Somalians, referencing reports of billions of missing dollars.

In a recent Thanksgiving post on Truth Social, Trump criticized both Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) and Representative Omar. He described Omar as always being “wrapped in her swaddling hijab” and doing “nothing but hatefully” complaining about the U.S.

In the post, Trump stated: “The seriously retarded Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, does nothing… while the worst ‘Congressman/woman’ in our Country, Ilhan Omar, always wrapped in her swaddling hijab, and who probably came into the U.S.A. illegally in that you are not allowed to marry your brother, does nothing but hatefully complain about our Country, its Constitution, and how ‘badly’ she is treated, when her place of origin is a decadent, backward, and crime ridden nation, which is essentially not even a country for lack of Government, Military, Police, schools, etc.”

💍 Resurfacing Marriage Allegations

Breitbart News reported on a response from Omar, who is a Somali native, where she attacked Trump for making “lawless threats” against Somalians.

The long-running allegations regarding Omar’s marital history resurfaced in 2020. The Powerline blog reported in February of that year that the Daily Mail had published a story claiming Omar “DID marry her brother” and had expressed a willingness to “do what she had to do to get him ‘papers’ to keep him in U.S.,” citing a Somali community leader.

The Powerline report identified the source as Abdihaikm Osman Nur, who reportedly met with a Daily Mail journalist after the publication of Powerline’s initial post on the topic in 2016.
