One week after securing the prestigious 2025 CMA Entertainer of the Year title, Lainey Wilson brought her signature flair to the heart of New York City, taking the stage for the 99th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The beloved holiday spectacle, which aired live on NBC starting at 8:30 AM, featured a star-studded lineup alongside the iconic floats and balloons.
Spectators lining the parade route were treated to performances from a diverse group of artists including Cynthia Erivo, Mickey Guyton, Colbie Caillat, Russell Dickerson, Christopher Jackson, and Foreigner, leading up to Wilson’s highly anticipated moment. Wilson delivered her festive set near the parade’s grand finale, just before Santa Claus made his triumphant entrance, performing directly in front of the Macy’s flagship store in Herald Square.
Her ensemble was perfectly suited for the occasion: a striking red, fluffy coat layered over a long black jacket adorned with gold embellishments. She accessorized with bold gold earrings, black fringed gloves, and a simple black cowboy hat, maintaining her distinctive style.
The country star performed two songs for the holiday crowd. She opened with her Grammy-nominated, dreamy hit, “Somewhere Over Laredo.” Following that, she shifted gears, offering a dazzling holiday rendition of her popular track, “Peace, Love, and Cowboys,” spreading cheer just in time for the season.
This performance continues Wilson’s strong involvement in holiday celebrations. Last year, in 2024, she was a central part of the Thanksgiving festivities, performing at the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Kickoff halftime show during the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving football game.
