Tom Hardy caused a stir in East London on Monday as he was spotted filming scenes for the highly anticipated second season of Guy Ritchie’s gritty gangster drama, MobLand .
The 48-year-old actor left little to the imagination after stripping down to a pair of black boxer shorts.
He was seen walking around the set in sliders and a T-shirt, with his thigh tattoos clearly visible.
Hardy, who plays the brutal fixer Harry Da Souza, was carrying two mobile phones in his hand.
He was closely followed through the streets by a security detail wearing a high-visibility jacket.
MobLand centers on powerful London crime bosses Conrad and Maeve Harrigan, played by Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren.
They are locked in a battle with a rival syndicate threatening to dismantle their criminal empire.
Hardy’s character, Harry Da Souza, serves as their enforcer, called upon to deal with their most pressing problems.
The plot for Season 2 remains heavily guarded, but it is expected to pick up immediately after the blood-soaked events of the Season 1 finale.
The first season concludes with the Harrigans defeating the Stevenson family, led by Richie (Geoff Bell).
However, the season ends on a dramatic cliffhanger: Harry was stabbed by his own wife, Jan (Joanne Froggatt).
Earlier, Harry had employed solicitor O’Hara Delaney as a double agent to help dismantle Richie’s gang.
He and Conrad’s eldest son, Kevin (Paddy Considine), subsequently killed Richie.
The show’s synopsis sets the stage for the conflict: ‘Power is up for grabs as two warring crime families clash in a battle that threatens to topple empires.’
‘In the crossfire stands Harry Da Souza, a street-smart ‘fixer’ who knows too well where loyalties lie when opposing forces collide.’
The gangster drama premiered on Paramount+ in April and quickly became a fan favorite.
The ten-episode series has achieved a respectable 78 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Viewers have been sharing overwhelmingly positive reviews.
