Hollywood legend Sylvester Stallone demonstrated a powerful act of real-life heroism in December 2015, auctioning off more than 1,400 cherished items from his personal collection to benefit American veterans and wounded servicemen and servicewomen, particularly those battling Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).1

 

The three-day event, titled “Stallone – The Auction,” generated over $3 million in winning bids, a significant portion of which was directed toward military charities.2 Stallone’s selfless motivation for parting with his career treasures was direct and heartfelt: “This is my way of giving back to those who died.”
